  • Remove Tutorial Auto-Loading + A Way For Quick Font Changes in Program?

    pikkupikku Posts: 4Member

    Hello!

I just started to use this fantastic program, and I have two questions which neither AI-chat or some documentary searches haven't given me answer on.

    1. Can I remove the Tutorial from auto-loading every time I start the program?
    2. Is it possible to quick-change the font without scrolling the list? I have tried up-down button which didnt work.

Let's say I want to find the perfect font for a headline, and I have 150 fonts in my library. It's somewhat frustrating to click on the dropdown menu, then search for the one you used last time by trying to get the mouse pointer on the minimal scrollbar for faster scrolling. I would prefer to just mark the title text and press a button to try the next or previous font directly.

[I run Lunacy 9.6.1 on Linux]

    Thanks 😀

      @pikku Hi!

      1. According to your description, this is a bug. The tutorial should open only when you first launch the program, after which you can simply close the tab and it will not be shown. What Linux distribution are you using?
      2. Yes, unfortunately, we now have some difficulties with working in the fontpicker. For now, I can advise you to enter the name of the font you are looking for in the input field.

However, in one of the future versions we are going to rework the font picker, add more filtering methods, and make it more convenient for searching.

@pikku Try updating to version 9.6.2. Also check if the app data folder is empty or not.

When you restart app, do tabs opened during the previous session load correctly? Or does the program only open the tutorial tab on restart?

Unfortunately, Lunacy is only officially supported on Ubuntu. Perhaps the bug is related to the system.

Where did you download the program from? Try installing Lunacy via snap or flatpack, if possible.

      Thank you for the answer.

      I'm using Fedora 40, Kernel: 6.9.5-200, Wayland.

Lunacy offers 9.6.2 but fails to install.

And Fedora is a bit slow in offering the latest program versions when updating all software," so version 9.6.2 is not available yet, and I have to wait a bit.

Lunacy only load the guide (slowly) and I have to manually open my project each time.

      Thanks

I'm no Linux pro-user so I don't know how to type commands which makes good logs,

but I tested to install thru Lunacy again and the built-in-crash-log looks like this:

I checked Snap, and it said that I had Lunacy installed. And that I had 9.6.2 installed.

But when I start it from my icon, it starts 9.6.1.

Now when I tried to start it through Snap, it starts 9.6.2.

      I probably have duplicate installations.

I tried to start 9.6.2 and closed the guide, opened my project, closed the program, and started again. And now it didn't show the guide, but it showed my project - as it should.

So, in short, I have remnants from another installation causing issues, and I need to clean it up. Thank you so much for your dedication in solving the mystery, and I look forward to working with Lunacy. :)
